Korrissa Aguilar, a dynamic and accomplished sports professional, hails from the vibrant city of San Jose, California. From her early years, she displayed an exceptional affinity for softball, honing her skills across a range of positions including shortstop, second base, third base, and left field during her college career. Her prowess extended beyond the field as she developed a keen coaching acumen, specializing in instructing various aspects of the game such as hitting, slapping, infield play, outfield dynamics, and base running.

Korrissa’s journey through the softball world spans a remarkable trajectory, encompassing both player and coach roles across diverse levels of competition. Having embarked on her playing journey at West Valley College, she embraced the challenge of NCAA DI softball at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, before returning to West Valley due to financial considerations. This triumphant return saw her contribute significantly to the conference victory in 2015 and a memorable run to the super regionals. Continuing her academic and athletic pursuits, she transferred to NAIA DI MidAmerica Nazarene University, where she concluded her eligibility while completing her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.

Transitioning seamlessly into coaching, Korrissa’s passion and knowledge found an outlet through private lessons and camps at Zoned Sports Academy. Her coaching journey took a pivotal turn in November 2020 when she was appointed as the part-time Head Softball Coach at NCAA DIII Saint Elizabeth University, marking her debut in the college coaching realm. This venture proved to be a turning point, as she guided the program to historical milestones. By May 2021, Korrissa etched her name in the annals of the university’s sports history with its first-ever playoff victory.

Recognizing her exceptional leadership and impact, Korrissa Aguilar’s ascent continued in September 2021 with a three-fold promotion. She assumed the roles of Assistant Athletic Director, Senior Woman Administrator, and, undoubtedly, the full-time Head Softball Coach. Her dedication and strategic vision propelled the university’s athletics program to new heights.

The pinnacle of Korrissa’s coaching journey thus far was realized in May 2023 when she orchestrated an unprecedented achievement—a conference championship, a monumental feat not only for the softball program but for the entire university’s athletic endeavors. This extraordinary accomplishment was realized with her inaugural recruiting class, a testament to her recruiting prowess and coaching prowess.

In August 2023, the saga continues as Korrissa Aguilar joins the coaching staff at NCAA DII CSU East Bay as a full-time assistant coach under the guidance of Claire Sua-Amundson, affirming her status as an influential figure in the softball coaching community.

Korrissa’s academic foundation is equally impressive, having earned a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2018. Undeterred in her pursuit of excellence, she obtained a Masters in Athletic Administration from Concordia University, Nebraska, in 2021, further enhancing her understanding of sports management and leadership.
